Back to School Craft Party

At this year's party I debuted the new seeing studio where I will host classes this season. It came in handy because the weather was a bit cool and it was nice to sew indoors while the snacking, socializing and running still all happened in the yard.
We made cup cozies. Kids brought water bottles to wrap the cozies around though now that we are headed into Fall I am looking forward to using them for hot apple cider and hot chocolate! Not only do they distinguish your cup from others it eliminates needing a paper sleeve. A very cute win-win.

"WE are sewing MACHINES"

Had a new crop of girls in this week and after watching their older sister sew with me all summer they went at their projects with gusto.
They even got to make a simple project on the sewing machine. By cutting a printed cloth napkin in half they only had to top stitch the top edge and sew the sides together. Add straps and viola! Tote bag!

Sew Camp week 2

On the sewing machine we made totes, drawstring bags, fabric trays plus necklaces and scrunchies. The hand stitchers were able to make bags too - out of burlap.
The girls from the previous week were able to troubleshoot their machines better and the new machinist learn how to fill her bobbin. Having fun together - and helping when thread got tangled! They made the cutest cupcakes ever.
Plus all learned how to make yo-yo's that they turned into cherries and sewed them onto hair clips. A perfect play date project! Seeing three of this week's girls in the next session - hope to see you too!
Wall pocket organizer... Back to school ready!

Summer Camp craft parties!

Stop by if you are curious about what we are making! A few of the new project samples for all levels of stitchers:
